Kaylee Halko will throw out the first pitch tonight at the Mud Hens game. July 21 also happens to be Kaylee's birthday! Kaylee has Progeria, a rare genetic condition that causes rapid premature aging. Only 14 children in the United States are currently living with progeria. The average life expeectancy is thirteen years old. Kaylee's parents have organized a fundraiser for the Progeria Research Foundation. They are having a walk on September 30 to raise money for the group and hopefully help their daughter and other children with Progeria. The walk will start at Monclova Primary School. If you'd like to get involved, the family has set up a website for Kaylee -
www.sweetkaylee.com. You can also email the family at tmhalko@msn.com or call 419-794-7402 (after July 22).
