- Fourth graders at Monclova Elementary School unanimously decided to donate money from an annual fundraiser to the Progeria research foundation.

Marla Halko, Kaylee's mom, said, "We were touched. The school has been so supportive of everything, when they found out Kaylee had Progeria. It is just great. It's a great feeling especially for my boys who go to school here, to know that their school is supporting them."

Kaylee, her mom, and dad, visited the school today.

Kaylee's mom told the kids more about Progeria. "There are all these doctors right now and they're working really hard to find some medicine to help make her better."

There is no treatment, no cure. Children live on average, into their early teens.

The children hope their donation helps.

Allie Loeffler is a fourth grader, and says, she expects "to get people caring more about all the people who have Progeria and so they can get better and find the cure."

Nick Case is also a fourth grader and says, "It makes me feel so glad because it I can actually donate and people can say thank you Monclova school for donating all this."

The Halko family thanked the children for donating 250 dollars to find a cure.
